Art celebrates life, movement, action and beauty. This happy group of friendly people have a common interest in practical art, from beginners to advanced, and every medium is used. Some prefer acrylics, whilst others oils or mixed medium and a wide variety of subjects are often painted with some happy accidents.
We help each other and people with a knowledge of oils, water colours, etc., will assist with mixing colours, composition etc. We are a varied bunch with lots of talented artists who will provide helpful information if required. Enquiries to Shirley(Convenor) on (07)32864658 or 0413569977.
Our Practical Art Group are certainly showing off their talents with members painting in water colours, acrylics, pencil and pastels.
This happy friendly group meet at the Donald Simpson Centre each Tuesday morning from 8.30 a.m. until around 11 a.m. and warmly welcome new members. Currently there are 66 members, 28 to 40 attending on Tuesdays.
The main method of tuiton is to learn from each other so communication between members is highly important. You can rest assured that every assistance is given to new members whether it's about mixing colours etc. or learning the basics of whichever medium you choose.
The Redlands Council are kindly giving us the opportunity to display our talents at the Art Gallery on the 24th August this year. Our exhibition is called "Memorable Interludes."
